8BitDo Zero 2 & Micro Bluetooth Controller Holder for Phones and Tablets
I'm a retro gamer. I grew up in the 80s — arcades, button pushes, the whole thing. So when mobile gaming started getting serious, I knew I needed a proper controller. Touch screen controls just don't do it for me. There's no connection, no feedback, no feel.
I tried PlayStation 3 controllers, PlayStation 4 controllers, Ipega controllers with phone clips — none of them were portable enough to actually carry around. Definitely not pocketable.
Then I found the 8BitDo Zero 2. Brilliant little thing. Small, Bluetooth, fits in your pocket — and it handles emulators up to PlayStation 1 perfectly. Have you ever tried to shove a PS3 controller into your jeans pocket? I have. It doesn't fit.
The only problem with the Zero 2 is that you have to hold it separately from your phone or tablet. So I sat down and designed a holder that would tick every box I cared about:
Fits in my pocket
Stays attached to the phone or tablet
Holds the controller so securely it can't fall out
Built tough enough to survive daily use (I have ADHD — indestructible is a genuine requirement)
Turns any phone or tablet into a proper handheld retro gaming machine
The result is the Retrosheep 8BitDo Zero 2 holder — 3D printed in flexible TPU rubber, with a simple velcro strap that fits any phone or tablet, Android or Apple. It's what I wished existed when I started looking.
