Prince of Persia: The Two Thrones PS2 | PlayStation 2 | Ubisoft | 2005 | Action Adventure | Dark Prince | Sands of Time Trilogy | Jordan Mechner | Disc Only | PAL UK
Confirmed working tested before listing. Black label. Disc only no manual.
The concluding chapter of the Sands of Time trilogy, and the one that ties together everything set in motion in the first two games. If you've played Sands of Time and Warrior Within, this is the payoff the Prince returns to Babylon hoping to finally put the Sands behind him, only to find his city in ruins, Kaileena targeted for assassination, and the corruption of the Sands beginning to reshape his own identity from within.
The central mechanic of The Two Thrones is the split between the Prince and the Dark Prince a manifestation of everything the Sands have cost him. The Dark Prince plays faster and more aggressively, wielding a bladed chain that can drag enemies and reach distant targets. The Prince himself retains his acrobatic parkour movement and the time-rewind power from Sands of Time. Switching between them is tied to the story, not player choice the game decides when each personality surfaces, which keeps the narrative tension tight. Speed Kill mechanics are new to this entry: ambushing enemies from ledges or cover initiates a brief timed sequence that dispatches them silently, rewarding patient players who engage with the environment.
Tonally it lands closer to the original Sands of Time than the darker Warrior Within the Prince has recovered some of his humour and self-awareness, and the Babylon setting gives the game a warmer visual palette than the grey stone of the second game.
A satisfying conclusion to one of the PS2's best trilogies. Sands of Time (Platinum) is also available separately in our shop if you want to start from the beginning.
