£7.99

Confirmed working tested before listing. Black label. Complete with manual.

No light gun required. No CRT TV required. Plays on any television with a standard DualShock 2 controller.

Silent Scope is Konami's port of their 1999 arcade sniper game one of the most distinctive cabinets of the late 90s, built around a rifle housing a tiny LCD screen in the scope that you'd peer through to aim. The PS2 version obviously doesn't replicate that hardware, but it translates the core experience well: you're a counter-terrorism sniper working through a series of escalating scenarios, scanning crowded environments through a rifle scope to identify and neutralise targets before they can harm civilians or officials.

The sniping mechanic is genuinely tense. You have a wide field of view in the normal game screen, but zooming into scope view narrows your vision dramatically you can see fine detail on targets but lose all peripheral awareness. Managing that trade-off, staying calm under time pressure, and making clean shots under the game's strict time limits gives Silent Scope a satisfying rhythm that holds up well.

The PS2 version adds content not in the arcade original: a full original story mode alongside the arcade mode, a training mode to learn the mechanics, and a time attack variant. Multiple branching paths through the campaign give it genuine replay value for a score-chasing audience.

It's an easy, accessible pick-up no specialist hardware, no CRT needed, just plug in and play. A solid addition to any PS2 collection, and a good contrast to the GunCon titles also available in our shop.
